Meet Greg
“Helping Buyers Achieves Their Dreams and Sellers Realize Their Goals.” That is Greg Doherty’s business motto and the key to his success. A real estate professional since 2005, Greg is a Licensed Realtor® in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. He specializes in sales in Old Town, Alexandria, and Down the Parkway, as well as Washington, DC in Georgetown and Capitol Hill.
Greg is great at helping sellers maximize ROI on their house by suggesting upgrades, painting, and staging, along with implementing innovative marketing. He helps buyers identify what it is they really want and need in a home, and once they’ve found ‘the one,’ present an offer that will win in a competitive environment. He is an expert at listening to people and navigating them through the real estate process, providing top-notch service and results, with many glowing testimonials to prove it.
Born in Boston, MA, Greg and his family moved around a bit with his father serving in the US Air Force, from London, England to Long Beach, Mississippi, and back to Boston. He received a BS in Psychology from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, an Associate Post-Graduate degree from the Humanistic Psych Institute in Bethesda, MD, and did Post-Graduate studies at both Georgetown University and GWU.
In his diverse career, Greg taught middle school in the DC Metro area and was a restaurant general manager in Georgetown. Prior to real estate, he ran his own consulting business for restaurants and hotels in DC. His experiences honed his patience, empathy, intuitiveness, and ability to excel in demanding situations and thrive in fast-paced environments.
Very involved in his community, he volunteers at his local church in Old Town, is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and organizes the annual National Night Out Ice Cream Social at the Basilica of Saint Mary. Greg also serves as VP for the Mason Hill Citizens Association and volunteers for both the Fairfax Federation and the Mount Vernon Council. He cycles every morning, and sails when he can.
